Description
Something Amazing is the third album released by Andrea Celeste, one of the most promising Italian pop-jazz singers. The album features 8 tracks, that fully reveal the artist’s unique, warm voice. At only age 25, Andrea Celeste once more proves to be one of the most versatile artists on the Italian and international soul-pop scene.
Listening to the album carefully, what comes out is like a fresco blending together the different souls of black music, with soul, jazz, pop, and world music combining to breathe life into a lively album, filled with pathos and sensuality.
Several Italian and international artists took part in the recording of Something Amazing. Among them, a special mention goes to the American great vibraphonist Joe Locke, but also Dado Moroni, Vittorio De Scalzi and the strings of GnuQuartet, who endow the entire album with a neat, never banal instrumental background.
All eight tracks of the album, in English, are by Andrea Celeste herself and the young lyricist Marco Sanna. There is also a highly sophisticated cover: Born to be Alive – the historic dance track by Patrick Hernandez is reinterpreted by Celeste in an intimate, acoustic key, whose soft notes lead us to a party on the beach, when the evening light and colors start to peep out from the horizon and bonfires start crackling in the dark. The album also features some pleasant forays into blues, especially in the track Here I Become, in which Andrea Celeste’s multifaceted voice stands against a strongly electric and rhythmic groove setting.
Something Amazing is an album that aims to convey a message of hope and positive thinking, where even the most intimate tracks, like Falling For You and I Can’t Stay shine like diamonds in the warm, bright sunlight.
